Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Schematic Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work directly from complex wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and cable schedules without supervision.

  • Component Integration: Terminate and populate switchrooms

  • Testing & Quality Control: Conduct point-to-point testing, insulation resistance testing, and pre-commissioning checks to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439 standards.

  • Fault Finding: Identify and resolve wiring discrepancies or schematic errors early in the build phase.

  • Communication: Good communication skills required to resolve techncial, electrical or structural issues with Project Managers and Engineers

  • Safety: A strong focus on safety required

Key requirements:

What We Are Looking For

  • Licensing: Current, valid A-Grade Electrical License.

  • Core Skillset: Absolute proficiency in reading cable schedules and complex wiring diagrams is non-negotiable.

  • Experience: Proven background in switchboard manufacturing, industrial automation, or panel-building environments.

  • Attention to Detail: High standard of workmanship— neat looming, accurate labeling, and precise terminations, along with strong troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Safety First: A strong commitment to workshop safety and compliance standards.

  • Forklift licence: an advantage.

What AVID Offers:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience with regular overtime opportunities.

  • Clean, well-equipped, climate-controlled workshop environment.

  • Consistent, stable workflow with a strong pipeline of projects

  • Uniforms provided / Career progression into leading hand roles

If you’re a skilled Panel Builder who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to join a supportive and growing team, we’d love to hear from you.
