Are you sick of doing the same thing every day?
Do you want to work on everything from Caterpillar mining equipment to Toyota LandCruisers, generators, Kenworths, road trains, earthmoving gear, marine equipment and everything in between?
Do you want to live or work in one of the most remote, unique and beautiful parts of Australia?
If so, keep reading.
Due to continued growth across our mining, remote community and commercial operations, Darky's Mechanical Services (DMS) is expanding our Field Service Team.
We are looking for good people first and mechanics second.
Whether you're an experienced mining fitter, diesel mechanic, LV mechanic, serviceman, tyre fitter or a newly qualified tradesman keen to learn, we want to hear from you.
At DMS we believe skills can be taught.
Attitude can't.
We're building a culture based around:
• Honesty
• Integrity
• Respect
• Teamwork
• Having a crack
• Looking after each other
We don't care if you've spent your whole career on one brand.
We don't care if you're coming from trucks, agriculture, mining, construction or automotive.
What we care about is finding people who turn up, have a go, help their mates and take pride in their work.
Our team works together. Nobody is above sweeping a floor, changing a tyre, helping load a truck or jumping in to get a job done.
If you're the type of person who says "that's not my job", this probably isn't the place for you.
This isn't FIFO to a camp in the middle of nowhere.
This is East Arnhem Land.
A place most Australians will never experience.
When you're not at work you could be:
• Fishing some of Australia's best bluewater and estuary systems
• Chasing Barra, Jewfish and Spanish Mackerel
• Exploring untouched beaches
• Camping in remote locations
• Hunting on some of the most spectacular country in Australia
• Four-wheel-driving through Arnhem Land
• Meeting traditional owners and experiencing one of the oldest living cultures on earth
For residential employees, Gove offers an incredible lifestyle with:
• Great schools
• Sporting clubs
• Restaurants and cafés
• Safe family-friendly neighbour hoods
• Amazing fishing and outdoor lifestyle
• Strong community spirit
Many people come here for a job and end up staying for years.
No two weeks are the same.
You could be:
• Completing mine shutdown work
• Covering shifts at Rio Tinto's mine workshop
• Rebuilding engines, transmissions and final drives
• Diagnosing complex electrical and hydraulic faults
• Servicing equipment in remote communities
• Working on generators and power stations
• Maintaining heavy vehicle fleets
• Carrying out breakdowns across East Arnhem Land
• Travelling through some of Australia's most remote and beautiful communities
• Supporting local councils, homelands and businesses
One day you might be working on a D11.
The next day a Hilux.
The day after that a generator keeping an entire community running.
We're looking for people who:
• Have a can-do attitude
• Are willing to learn
• Can work independently
• Can work as part of a team
• Take pride in their work
• Communicate well with customers and workmates
• Want long-term employment
• Enjoy variety and challenges
• Are willing to travel when required
Trade qualified mechanics are preferred, however we are also interested in speaking with:
• Diesel Mechanics
• Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• LV Mechanics
• Servicemen
• Tyre Fitters
• Newly Qualified Tradespeople
If you've got the right attitude, we'll invest in the rest.
• FIFO or Residential opportunities
• Immediate starts available
• Long-term secure work
• Industry leading rates
• Accommodation assistance available
• Company vehicles available for suitable roles
• Ongoing training and development
• Opportunity to gain additional licences and tickets
• Exposure to one of Australia's largest varieties of equipment
• Career progression opportunities
• Family-focused workplace
• Supportive management team
• Strong team culture
Most importantly, you'll be joining a business that genuinely values its people.
We're not a multinational.
We're not a labour hire company.
We're a locally owned Northern Territory business that believes relationships, family and community come before everything else.
Darky's Mechanical Services employs more than 30 tradespeople and support staff across East Arnhem Land.
We support major mining operations, remote Aboriginal communities, local businesses, government agencies and contractors throughout the region.
Our reputation has been built on turning up, doing what we say we'll do and backing our people.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for good people who want to be part of the journey.
If you're looking for a career, not just another job, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and come experience what life and work in Arnhem Land is really about.
Immediate starts available.
Contact Darky on Jam••@darkysmechanical.com or apply through seek. I will only be able to get back to people who I believe fit my workshop culture and morel.
