Metal Fabrication Welder

About the role
Ferris Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of fabrication projects including structural steel, custom fabrication, sea container modifications, workshops, site offices, and industrial projects.

What you'll be doing

• Performing MIG & TIG welding and fabrication work to a high standard

• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings and fabrication plans

• Fabricating, assembling, and modifying steel components and structures

• Working on sea container modifications, custom fabrication, and engineering projects

• Operating workshop equipment and tools safely and efficiently

• Maintaining quality control and ensuring work meets project specifications

• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

• Assisting with installation work and site-based projects when required

• Maintaining a clean, organised, and productive workshop environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator

• Experience in operating CNC laser & hydraulic press brake

• Strong MIG welding skills (TIG experience advantageous)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and positive attitude

• Current C Class Driver's Licence

• Forklift ticket (desirable but not essential)

• Construction White Card (desirable)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening if required
