About the role
AC Equipment is seeking a skilled and reliable Light Equipment Technician to join our team at our Wingfield, SA location. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work with light vehicles and equipment maintenance in a dynamic trades and services environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers fleet operates at peak performance, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality workmanship. This position is integral to our operations, as equipment reliability directly impacts our service delivery to clients.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on light vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
Repair, Reman and replace faulty components, including engines,power transmission assemblies, and electrical systems
Conduct comprehensive vehicle and equipment servicing according to manufacturer specifications and company standards
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Identify potential safety issues and report them promptly to management
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair timelines and recommendations
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment compliant with health and safety regulations
Support the team to meet service delivery targets and maintain customer satisfaction
What we're looking for
Formal qualifications in automotive or light vehicle mechanics, or equivalent hands-on experience in vehicle servicing and repair
Proven experience working as a technician in a trades environment, ideally with light vehicles and equipment
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a technician in a trades environment is required
Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
Competency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and workshop machinery
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work methodically through complex issues
Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working in various positions as required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Current driver's licence (desirable)
Class C (car) driver's licence required
Trade certification or continuing professional development (desirable)
