Diesel Truck Mechanic

Coastwide Readymix Concrete is a locally owned and operated company supplying ready-mixed concrete to the building and construction industry across the Central Coast region for over 35 years.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, trade qualified heavy vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join the team based at our West Gosford workshop. 

Our ideal candidate is a motivated self starter who in addition to day to day mechanical is willing to take ownership of our fleet maintenance program and drive cost effective safety and compliance outcomes to keep us on the road and supporting our clients. 

The role is casual to start with full time hours on offer and overtime available on a competitive hourly rate with a consistent workload.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct on site planned maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.

• Attend breakdowns and mobile repairs

• Assist with yard and workshop maintenance.

• Maintain vehicle and plant registers, service history and paperwork

• Schedule and arrange external servicing and inspections

• Maintain workshop inventory and source suppliers.

About you:

• A current suitable driving record.

• 3 years minimum experience.

• Fully trade qualified.

• Be a team player who is self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.

• Be passionate about safety and environment with a strong work ethic.

• Have effective communication skills.

• Be able to perform all duties associated with the position including manual handling.

• Ability to work reasonable overtime including Saturdays when required.

• Relevant concrete industry experience will be highly regarded however full training will be provided.
