About Us
South West Autohaus is located at 2/3 Raptor Place, South Geelong. We are a professional, friendly workshop committed to delivering quality service to our customers and genuine career development to our team. We take pride in our work, our culture, and the people we bring on board.
Working Hours
We operate on a four day work week, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm. This means you get every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off, a genuine work life balance that is rare in the trade. You will still be working your full 38 ordinary hours plus overtime across four days, giving you a three day weekend every week.
What You Will Be Doing
As a First Year Apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced technicians every day, building practical skills in a real workshop environment while working towards your Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Your day to day will include:
Assisting qualified technicians with logbook servicing, maintenance, and repairs
Learning to diagnose faults across a range of light vehicles
Working on traditional combustion engine vehicles as well as hybrid and EV platforms
Using and caring for workshop tools and equipment correctly and safely
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Developing your understanding of emerging vehicle technologies and future mobility trends
What We Are Looking For
We are not just looking for someone who knows about cars. We are looking for the right person with a great attitude who is eager to learn and grow with us. You will ideally have:
A genuine interest in vehicles and the automotive industry
A willingness to learn, take direction, and work hard
Good reliability and time management
Solid communication skills and a positive attitude
A current driver's licence or working towards one (advantageous)
Completion of Year 12 (advantageous)
