About the role
AustEnergy Electrical Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to join our team in Wangara, WA 6065. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to lead and mentor electrical teams whilst delivering high-quality electrical installations and maintenance work. As an Electrical Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. Your leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation as a trusted electrical services provider in the region.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate electrical teams on site, ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and building regulations
Plan and organise daily work schedules, allocating tasks and resources effectively to meet project deadlines
Conduct inductions and tool box talks to ensure team members understand project requirements and safety protocols
Mentor and provide on-the-job training to apprentices and junior electricians, fostering their professional development
Carry out inspections of electrical installations and identify any defects or non-compliance issues
Liaise with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project coordination
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time sheets
Ensure all electrical work is completed to specification and meets quality standards
Promote a strong safety culture on site and report any incidents or hazards to management
Operate and maintain electrical tools and equipment safely and appropriately
What we're looking for
Current A-Grade WA Electrician's Licence with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified electrician
Proven experience in a supervisory or leading hand role within the electrical trades
Strong knowledge of the Australian Electrical Safety Standard (AS/NZS 3000) and relevant building codes and regulations
Competency in First Aid and CPR, with a current First Aid Certificate
Experience with a range of electrical installation types, including domestic, commercial, and renewable work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively
Sound organisational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices on all job sites
Ability to work independently and make decisions in line with company policies and industry standards
