Senior Carpenter – Renovations & Extensions (Residential)

About the Business

We are a residential building company specialising in bespoke renovations and extensions. This role is not suitable for commercial or volume residential (volume builder) carpenters.

We are seeking an experienced carpenter who can work independently, take ownership of small projects, and consistently deliver high-quality work in existing and occupied homes.

We have a strong pipeline of secured projects and are looking for a long-term team member.

The Role

This is a hands-on carpentry role focused on residential renovations and extensions, with responsibility for delivering quality work and, where required, running smaller projects with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Carpentry across residential renovations and extensions

• Reading and interpreting plans and site conditions

• Working within existing structures and resolving on-site challenges

• Liaising with inspectors, engineers, and other trades

• Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant job site

• Supporting and mentoring junior carpenters and apprentices

• Running smaller jobs independently when required

Essential Requirements

• Qualified carpenter (completed apprenticeship)

• Strong residential renovation and extension experience (essential)

• Minimum 5 years of residential renovation and extension experience required

• Commercial and volume builder experience is not suitable for this role

• Ability to read plans and work independently

• Own tools and reliable transport

• White Card and driver's licence

• Full driver's licence required

• Must have Australian work rights

Experience Verification

Any experience claimed will be cross-referenced with referees and/or project history during the selection process. Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant residential renovation and extension experience.

Reliability & Work Expectations (Important)

This role requires a high level of reliability and consistent attendance.

Our projects are tightly programmed, and consistent attendance is essential to maintaining workflow, subcontractor coordination, and client expectations.

Applicants must have a proven track record of dependability in previous roles.

Selection Process
