Salary: $79,000 – $89,000 per annum plus superannuation

Callcott & Downey Engineering Services is a well-established engineering and machining business providing specialist machining, repair, and maintenance services to the mining, marine, transport, and industrial sectors throughout Western Australia.

Due to continued business growth and increasing demand for our engineering services, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Metal Machinist (First Class) to join our team in Kewdale.

Key Responsibilities

• Study and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools including lathes, milling machines, borers and grinders.

• Manufacture, modify and repair precision components to required tolerances.

• Measure, mark out and machine metal components using precision measuring instruments.

• Perform fitting, assembly and testing of machined parts and equipment.

• Maintain quality standards and ensure all work complies with workplace safety requirements.

• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

• Assist with breakdown repairs and refurbishment of industrial and mining equipment components.

Essential Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Metal Machinist (First Class), Fitter Machinist, or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.

• Experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience working with heavy industrial, mining or marine equipment.

• Forklift licence.

• Overhead crane and dogging experience.

• CNC programming experience.
