About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Joiner in a permanent, full-time capacity. You will be part of our production team in a busy workshop manufacturing new custom exhibition stands and maintaining and refurbishing existing stands. We are seeking a professional who can interpret our designers’ renders/plans using initiative to create a quality asethetic. This position represents a unique opportunity to use your joinery experience within a creative environment and be part of a team that builds some of the largest exhibitions in Australasia.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Analyse drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, appropriate fabrication and installation procedures.

• Suggest creative additions or amendments to fully realise the potential of the design brief.

• Utilise advanced precision woodworking techniques to fabricate and assemble high quality components.

• Ensure that all products meet high standards of craftsmanship.

• Undertake multiple projects simultaneously.

• Use the CNC machine as required.

• Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders including team members, designers and project managers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may be anticipated onsite.

Candidate must have:

• Certificate III in Joinery or at least 3 years of relevant experience.

• Strong understanding of design and construction principles.

• Ability to interpret creative and innovative design briefs and plans. 

• Uncompromising dedication to quality.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

• Reliability and punctuality.

• Ability to meet tight timelines and work under pressure.

• Ability to work some weekends and after hours (O/T) and to travel onsite as required to assist in installation/bump in.

• Exhibition industry experience would be desirable.

• Forklift license desirable.

• Ability to use a CNC machine would be highly regarded.

• Full working rights in Australia is essential.

Overtime rates are paid in accordance with our Award.
