About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Joiner in a permanent, full-time capacity. You will be part of our production team in a busy workshop manufacturing new custom exhibition stands and maintaining and refurbishing existing stands. We are seeking a professional who can interpret our designers’ renders/plans using initiative to create a quality asethetic. This position represents a unique opportunity to use your joinery experience within a creative environment and be part of a team that builds some of the largest exhibitions in Australasia.
Key Responsibilities include:
Analyse drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, appropriate fabrication and installation procedures.
Suggest creative additions or amendments to fully realise the potential of the design brief.
Utilise advanced precision woodworking techniques to fabricate and assemble high quality components.
Ensure that all products meet high standards of craftsmanship.
Undertake multiple projects simultaneously.
Use the CNC machine as required.
Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders including team members, designers and project managers.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may be anticipated onsite.
Candidate must have:
Certificate III in Joinery or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of design and construction principles.
Ability to interpret creative and innovative design briefs and plans.
Uncompromising dedication to quality.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to meet tight timelines and work under pressure.
Ability to work some weekends and after hours (O/T) and to travel onsite as required to assist in installation/bump in.
Exhibition industry experience would be desirable.
Forklift license desirable.
Ability to use a CNC machine would be highly regarded.
Full working rights in Australia is essential.
Overtime rates are paid in accordance with our Award.
