About the Role

We are currently hiring a Grounds Person to assist with various tasks related to turf and garden maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. If you have an interest in the racing industry, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in the horticultural industry, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Assist with turf and garden maintenance tasks specifically related to the smooth running of a premium racecourse site.
Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
Will be required to work around a schedule of 20 weekend race meetings per year with a small amount of overtime required on weekdays

About You

Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field is essential.
Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.
Strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Certificate III Sports and Turf Management or equivalent will be looked upon favorably
Valid manual drivers licence
