About the Role

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in automotive electrical systems, strong fault-finding capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll excel at identifying and resolving complex electrical issues while maintaining a safe, productive work environment. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and components in a diverse range of underground machines as well as light vehicles.

  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, control systems, alternators, starters, and battery systems.

  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electronic control units (ECUs), CAN bus systems, and onboard diagnostics.

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company procedures.

  • Contribute to major overhauls or rebuilds by servicing or replacing electrical systems and components.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and stakeholders regarding electrical faults, repair requirements, and safety concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent trade qualification

  • Valid Australian Driver's License

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment

  • Proven ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, installation manuals, and technical instructions
