Here's how you'll be a part of our team

As a Field Service Mechanic at Coates Belmont, you'll take responsibility for maintaining and repairing Coates equipment directly on customer sites.

You'll work across a variety of industries and equipment types, delivering reliable, high-quality service where it matters most.

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring independence, adaptability and strong customer engagement, along with solid mechanical and electrical capability.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform safe, effective and efficient preventative maintenance, reactive servicing and overhauls on customer sites
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on site - work on large earthmoving, generators, lighting plants and boom lifts.
  • Build strong customer relationships, delivering trusted, professional service that reinforces Coates as the supplier of choice
  • Ensure stock levels of spare parts are available to undertake any repair on site.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics & wider branch teams to manage workload effectively

What you'll bring to the role

  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Experience with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability (electrical focus highly regarded)
  • Effective time management and ability to work independently in the field
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Your own tools
  • Valid driver's licence (MR/HR preferred)
  • Forklift and EWP tickets (beneficial)

Experience in the hire industry is highly regarded but not essential.
