The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the Recycling Maintenance team. This permanent night shift role is perfect for candidates with a strong mechanical background who thrive in heavy industrial environments. You'll be responsible for maintaining critical recycling plant equipment, minimising downtime, and ensuring a safe, efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, breakdown repairs, and fault finding on plant equipment
• Maintain and repair conveyors, crushers, shredders, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Use MIG, ARC, and Oxy-acetylene welding for maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures to keep production running
• Support planned shutdowns and maintenance activities
• Complete maintenance documentation and maintain high housekeeping standards
• Promote a strong safety culture

What We're Looking For

• Trade-qualified Mechanical / Maintenance Fitter
• Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, recycling, steel, mining, or processing environments
• Strong welding skills (MIG, ARC, Oxy-acetylene)
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Forklift Licence and EWP Licence (essential)
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unrestricted working rights
