Mackenzie State Special School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities who works well as part of a team and autonomously. The School's Officer will be responsible for maintaining clean grounds and support staff with minor maintenance requests. The grounds and facilities play an important role in creating a safe and sensory-considerate environment for learning at our beautiful school.

Mackenzie State Special School is an inclusive Queensland State School that supports students with complex needs from Prep to Year 12, located on the southside of Brisbane within the Metropolitan South Region of Education Queensland. We celebrate and further develop students' individual abilities. Our aim is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that offers each individual student the opportunity to develop realistic and relevant knowledge and skills to ensure their fullest participation in their community.
About the Role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
This includes undertaking a range of activities to ensure school facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard of presentation, cleanliness, safety, and hygiene, while also contributing to the beautification, enhancement, and overall safety of the school environment.
Experience in the operation of plant and equipment (such as mowers, whipper snippers, hedgers, hand tools). Knowledge of basic WHS practices and processes will be highly regarded.
