Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice - Full Time | Monday–Friday 6am-4pm | Bunbury

Bunbury Drilling Company is a family-owned Drilling contractor operating throughout Western Australia. We are committed to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople and are seeking a motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic apprentice to join our Bunbury Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of drilling equipment and support vehicles.

  • Support fault diagnostics under supervision and assist with timely repair solutions.

  • Help maintain equipment to ensure it is safe for operation or correctly tagged out when unserviceable.

  • Contribute to maintaining service schedules and documenting all work completed.

  • Assist in managing breakdown repairs to help maximise equipment availability.

  • Support the ordering and handling of components, consumables, and workshop resources.

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, cleanliness, and presentation in all work areas.

  • Use electronic reporting systems to record maintenance tasks and complete checklists.

  • Participate actively in safety meetings and follow all safety protocols.

  • Complete all apprenticeship training, including TAFE requirements, as per the external training contract.

Essential Requirements:

  • Genuine interest in diesel mechanics and heavy plant equipment.

  • Willingness to learn from qualified tradespeople and follow instructions.

  • Ability to work within a team and demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.

  • Physically fit with good manual handling techniques.

  • Commitment to completing all apprenticeship training, including TAFE requirements.

  • Ability to use basic computer systems for reporting and communication

  • Manual C class License Preferred

Willingness to obtain licenses or certifications relevant to the role (e.g., HR license, Forklift license).
