Join Murrays Coaches as a Leading Hand Heavy Vehicle Mechanic in our Fleet Team and support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our modern heavy vehicle fleet. This role offers genuine variety, hands-on mechanical work, and the opportunity to guide and support an experienced workshop team.

What you will do
Lead, support and mentor mechanics and apprentices
Allocate daily workshop tasks and assist with workflow priorities
Diagnose, service and repair heavy vehicles, including coaches and buses
Coordinate preventative maintenance and assist with breakdown responses
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to Murrays standards
Participate in an on-call roster as part of the workshop support structure
What you will bring
Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a qualified diesel or heavy vehicle mechanic
Strong diagnostic, servicing and repair skills
Previous experience leading, mentoring or supporting a workshop team
A safety-first approach and strong attention to detail
Current MR driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain one
Valid Australian Heavy Rigid (HR) driver licence preferred.
This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, supporting a team, solving problems and helping keep a busy fleet operating safely and reliably.
