Position Objective:

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all Karadi facilities and vehicles. This role supports the health, wellbeing, and safety of clients, staff, and visitors by ensuring high standards of cleanliness and infection control are consistently achieved. The Cleaner will undertake routine and scheduled cleaning duties, follow infection prevention protocols, and contribute to a welcoming and professional environment that reflects Karadi's commitment to quality care and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness hygiene and infection control standards across all office buildings, meeting rooms, staff amenities, vehicles and common areas.

  • Ensure cleaning schedules and checklists are completed accurately and within required timeframes.

  • Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitiser and cleaning supplies

  • Safely use, maintain, and store cleaning equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Actively contribute to the development of a culture consistent with the values of Karadi.

  • Comply with Karadi’s policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s continuous quality improvement and work health and safety processes.

  • Undertake any other duties as required by the organisation.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated experience in cleaning hospitals, clinics, aged care facilities, or other commercial environments.

  • Work towards developing a good working knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and how these apply in our workplace.

  • Understanding and compliance with all Karadi policies and procedures.

  • National Police Check.

  • Working with Vulnerable People/ Children Card.

  • Current Drivers Licence.


Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in cleaning hospitals, clinics, aged care facilities, or other commercial environments.

  • Understanding of infection control principles and cleaning procedures in healthcare settings.

  • Knowledge of safe work practices, including the correct handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and waste.

  • Ability to problem-solve and find great ways to resolve an issue.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines, and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
