The opportunity
Our Raymond Terrace Parks team are seeking an experienced and passionate Trades Gardener to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your role as Trades Gardener will provide support to the Parks Team Leader, whilst motivating and mentoring a small team of Assistant Trades Gardeners and an Apprentice throughout their rotation.
With experience in a similar role, you will showcase your skillsets in Horticulture through undertaking maintenance and minor construction in accordance with our project schedules, providing technical advice and information relating to our park and recreational facilities.
Whilst horticulture is the aim of the game, this team has a focus on landscaping and gardening due to the location around our town centres. Skillsets that demonstrate a solid understanding of this would be highly regarded to help support the team in maintaining our high visibility community places.
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 38 hours / week Tuesday – Friday.
Base Salary Range: $68,617 to $77,879 pa based on 38 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance + adverse work allowances
You will be working from PSC Raymond Terrace Depot (Freeth Street, Raymond Terrace)

Trade certificate in Horticulture or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in Trades level horticulture activities including maintenance of sports and foreshores surfaces, reserves, trees, playgrounds, garden beds, and landscaped areas
Proven ability to operate and maintain horticulture machinery and plant
