About the Role We are seeking a motivated Irrigation Officer to join our team at South Bank Parklands on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to the Water Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and installing irrigation systems across the parklands. You will also support broader water services operations and collaborate with operational teams to ensure effective irrigation and water management outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain irrigation plant and equipment, including repairing pipes, valves, and fittings
• Locate underground services using manual excavation techniques
• Conduct inspections and testing of sprinkler systems
• Replace damaged or vandalised sprinkler heads and components
• Support the Horticultural team in assessing watering requirements for gardens, turf, and trees
• Undertake minor irrigation redesign works, including trenching and installation of pipework and sprinklers
• Monitor and program irrigation systems, track water usage, and optimise performance
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of recycled water treatment plants

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An irrigation qualification and/or demonstrated experience in irrigation within parklands or a similar environment
• Basic computer literacy
• Sound understanding of basic plumbing principles
• A current manual driver’s licence

Desirable:

• Forklift and/or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
• Electrofusion welding certification
