Tradesperson Fitter

About The Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work within our Ardrossan Dolomite Operation in Ardrossan, South Australia.

This is a full-time position working a Monday to Friday roster with an exciting opportunity for you to work in a team that is passionate about achieving targeted outcomes for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct work in a safe, professional and timely manner following all SIMEC standards and procedures

• Perform planned and corrective maintenance on fixed crushing and screening plant, mobile surface mining equipment and fabrication where required

• Work effectively within a team environment and independently

• Demonstrate ability for identifying continuous improvement opportunities with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems

• May also include heavy lifting, manual work, equipment movements and willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements

About You:

• Current trade qualifications and experience within a mining environment or similar industry

• Cert IV Mechanical Engineering - Fitter Trade Certificate

• Previous experience in similar roles in heavy industry or manufacturing experience would be desirable

• Experience with conveyor belts, bearings, gear boxes, large rotating equipment, lubrication, alignment and fitting would be advantageous.

• Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Working at Heights, and Confined Space tickets are desirable

• Ability to work flexibly to meet plant production targets.

• The ability to live locally or within a close radius of Ardrossan
