We're seeking a candidate with Electrical or Mechanical trade qualifications, experience in leading teams, and is looking to move into a Service Managers role to lead our Workshop and Yard Operations across the East Coast.

This role will manage the overall functionality of the service department for Generator Australia in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. This includes but is not limited to workflows, timesheets, service paperwork, staff attraction, training and retention, parts, and safety. The role will require you to be hands on while you build your knowledge of our assets, workflows and team.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday (7am-5pm), offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to shape and grow a critical part of our operations.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead and develop the service team to achieve budgets, revenue targets, and profitability
  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service across all touchpoints
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders
  • Oversee procurement activities and support external sales within the service division
  • Mentor and manage field service technicians to maximise performance and engagement
  • Drive growth of the external servicing arm and expand our customer base
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, streamlining processes and boosting efficiency
  • Promote and uphold a strong Zero Harm safety culture across all operations

You're a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to bring out the best in people.

You'll also have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing service teams within equipment servicing, periodical inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs (e.g. generators, lighting towers or similar equipment)
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • The ability to multitask, prioritise, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while achieving KPI and performance targets.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A genuine commitment to safety and best practice
