About the role: 

As After-hour Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of services to people we support across all houses within Macquarie cluster to enable them to live well at home, participate in their community, and achieve their goals. You will lead your team to deliver high standards of practice while embedding and living your passion for social inclusion for people living with disability.  

Candidates should be able to start as per below shift requirements:

1 X Permanent Full Time Position from Monday – Friday with 10pm start
2 X Permanent Part time positions from Saturday – Sunday with 4pm and 11pm start
  
Role Responsibilities:  
  • Oversee after hour operations that operates between 10.00pm and 6.00am, service delivery and the implementation of individual clients’ NDIS plan.
  • Proactively identify and manage after hours risk, including outbound engagement with services to provide supervision, confirm adherence to care plans, and support staff before issues escalate.
  • Act as the senior decision-maker for clinical, safety, and service delivery matters.
  • Provide remote supervision and guidance to both nursing and non-nursing staff, ensuring alignment with clinical standards, organisational frameworks and regulatory expectations.
  • Coordinate and report critical incidents occurring outside of business hours, ensuring timely documentation, notification and escalation.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and structured handover of overnight issues, risks, and actions to relevant Service Managers and operations leaders to support continuity of care and service delivery.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for frontline staff during after-hours periods.
  • Attend to workforce matters occurring overnight, escalating issues in line with Achieve Australia policy and delegation frameworks
  
To be successful in this role, you will need: 
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent including holding a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Extensive experience working in disability, community or complex support environments with a strong understanding of NDIS, active support and human rights-based practice.
  • Experience managing diverse disability support or equivalent services including multi-site accommodation service, day programs, and community participation.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating staffing resources, including managing unplanned leave or workforce shortages in complex services.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading operational responses in high-risk or time-critical situations, including incident management, escalation, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • You have a deep understanding of complex disability, behaviour support and management.
  • Advanced decision-making skills with a proven ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions, and manage competing priorities in a high-risk, after-hours environment.
  • You are highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
