We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically minded Field Service Technician to join our Sydney team.
Reporting to the Field Service Manager and Project Manager, you will receive structured on-the-job training before independently performing installations, commissioning, maintenance and technical support across various Designa sites.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, fault finding, networking basics and working both independently and within a team.
Attend customer sites for installation, servicing and support of Designa systems
Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on parking equipment
Commission, configure and test hardware and software systems
Troubleshoot networking and technical issues (supported by senior technical team)
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections
Provide ongoing technical and customer support in line with SLAs
Train Customers in system operation
Maintain accurate job records in Simpro (electronic job management system)
You will gain exposure to:
Smart Parking systems
License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems
On-premise and cloud-based parking software platforms
Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing protocols)
Cloud networking fundamentals (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, hybrid connectivity)
Essential:
Electrical or electronics qualification / trade certificate
Experience as a Field Service Technician or similar hands-on technical role
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
Good customer service and communication skills
Competent using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter)
Basic IT and networking knowledge
Valid Australian driver’s license
Desirable:
SQL Database knowledge
Strong Networking Experience
