About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Manager to lead and manage procurement activities across GAC Australia. This role is responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services that support business operations.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in procurement within automotive OEM, distributor, or multinational environments, with particular expertise in marketing, events, agency, and operational procurement. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Finance, and Operations to ensure procurement activities align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Vendor Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business growth and operational efficiency.

  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage suppliers across various categories, including marketing, events, professional services, fleet, logistics, and operational requirements.

  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure service quality, cost competitiveness, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and manage supplier risk assessments.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract management activities.

  • Review supplier agreements and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Monitor contract performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation.

  • Support tendering, RFQ, RFP, and procurement governance processes.

Marketing & Indirect Procurement

  • Manage procurement activities related to:

    • Marketing agencies

    • Media buying and advertising

    • Events and sponsorships

    • Digital marketing services

    • Promotional materials and merchandise

    • Public relations and creative services

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure procurement delivers optimal value while maintaining brand standards.

Operational Procurement

  • Support procurement requirements for vehicle launches, dealer network operations, corporate functions, and business projects.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and ensure timely delivery.

  • Monitor procurement budgets and spending performance.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and corporate governance standards.

  • Develop and improve procurement policies, procedures, and reporting systems.

  • Drive procurement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years' procurement experience, preferably within automotive OEM, automotive distributor, FMCG, retail, or multinational corporate environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing indirect procurement categories, particularly marketing and professional services.

  • Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Excellent commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
