About the role

We are seeking Qualified Bakers and Apprentice Bakers to join our team at Bakers Delight Mandurah/, Halls head/, Meadow Springs. This is a full-time position based in Mandurah & Peel, Western Australia. As a baker with us, you will play a vital role in producing the high-quality baked goods that define our brand. Whether you are an experienced qualified baker or an apprentice eager to develop your skills in the baking trade, you will contribute directly to our customers' experience and help maintain our reputation for excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced bakery environment whilst being part of a supportive and professional team.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked products according to established recipes and quality standards

2. Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, mixers, dough sheeters, and proofing chambers

3. Monitor dough fermentation, proofing times, and baking conditions to ensure consistent product quality

4. Measure and combine ingredients accurately, following standardised recipes and portion control guidelines

5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the bakery, adhering to food safety regulations and company procedures

6. Rotate stock appropriately and assist with product displays and presentation

7. Support the bakery team during peak production periods and contribute to meeting daily production targets

8. Follow safety protocols and report any equipment issues or concerns to management

9. For apprentices: undertake formal training and develop technical baking skills under the guidance of experienced bakers

What we're looking for

1. For Qualified Bakers: Current relevant baking qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in a professional bakery setting

2. For Apprentice Bakers: Willingness to learn and commitment to completing a recognised baking apprenticeship programme

3. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and product quality standards

4. Ability to work early mornings and shifts, as required by bakery operations

5. Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting bags of flour and other ingredients

6. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards

7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

8. Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work

9. Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one

10. Passion for baking and customer satisfaction
