Road worker truck driver

About the role

Smith Plant is seeking an experienced and reliable Road Worker / Truck Driver to join our team in Lismore NSW. You will primarily be working in asphalt, stabilisation and general roadwork crews undertaking a wide variety of tasks.

Key responsibilities

1. Operating flocon truck, jetpatcher truck, watercarts and tip trucks.

2. Working on the ground assisting with asphalt/spray seal and road stabilisation crews.

3. Operating drum and multi tyre rollers.

4. Operating milling heads and sweeper brooms on posi tracks.

5. Loading and unloading plant and materials safely and efficiently.

6. Conducting machinery checks and pre starts.

What we're looking for

1. Must have Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) truck license.

2. Proven experience in at least some of the responsibilities listed above including working on civil sites or road asphalt crews undertaking labour, operating rollers and or watercarts / tip trucks.

3. Training will be provided for jetpatcher / flocon truck if not experienced in these.

4. Ability to work a couple days at a time away from the Lismore area upon occasion.

5. Physical fitness to perform manual road work duties in conjunction with operating equipment and trucks is essential.

What we offer

A variety of work undertaking a good mix of site tasks. After a successful trial period a permanent package will be offered to the successful candidate. A great hourly rate of between $42 and $46 per hour with overtime and work ute forms part of this role. Ongoing training and upskilling so you can progress forward.
