Give Your Career a Tune-Up – Join Us at My Mobile Mechanic

At My Mobile Mechanic, we’re looking for more than just someone to turn spanners — we’re after a technician who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to keep learning and growing in the trade. Whether you’re confident with diagnostics already or still building your experience, we’re looking for the right attitude, strong work ethic, and someone who genuinely cares about doing a quality job.

We're looking for a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice or a Qualified Light Vehicle Technician to step into a role with above-award pay, variety in your week, quality gear, and a team that's got your back. You'll split your time between our fully equipped Caloundra workshop and mobile diagnostic and repair jobs, keeping your work challenging, interesting, and rewarding. This is your chance to join a down-to-earth team built on trust, family values, and a good dose of banter, in a fast-paced mechanical environment where quality and culture go hand in hand.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of light vehicles, such as servicing, brake and suspension repairs, and tyre replacement.

  • Diagnose vehicle problems effectively, with a strong focus on advanced diagnostics and accurately identifying required parts.

  • Repair and replace worn and broken parts using standard automotive tools and equipment.

  • Conduct safety and performance tests on light vehicles.

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of all vehicle systems, repairs, and complex issues to ensure confidence in diagnostics.

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.

  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Light Vehicle Technology or close to completion.

  • Previous experience in a light vehicle mechanic role.

  • Proven diagnostic ability, with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of complex vehicle systems.

  • Must have valid Australian work rights.

  • Own hand and power tools.

  • Valid manual driver's licence.

  • Willing work ethic.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Detail oriented with strong organisational skills.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Sense of humour.

Please apply for this position by submitting your resume via email and answer the following 3 questions:

  1. Do you have experience across almost all aspects of the light vehicle automotive industry?

  2. Please describe, in what way did your previous position fail to fit your expectations?

  3. Please describe, what was it that specifically attracted you to this job?
