BoilermakerFabrication Apprentice

LJ’s Engineering and Steel Fabrication are seeking an Apprentice Boilermaker/Fabricator to complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.

Applications are encouraged from candidates looking to commence an apprenticeship or current apprentices in Year 1, 2 or 3 wishing to continue their training.

We are looking for applicants who have a great attitude towards work and who are hardworking, reliable and punctual.

About The Role –

• Learn and develop fabrication and welding skills under qualified tradespeople
• Assist tradesmen and work independently as skills develop
• Work onsite at our Gracemere workshop or on location as required
• Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• May include some after hours/Saturday shifts as required
• Casual role to begin, transitioning into a full time apprentice role for the right candidate after a successful three (3) month probationary period.

Qualifications & Experience –

• Current apprentice (Year 1, 2 or 3) or willingness to commence a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
• Welding or metal fabrication experience is highly desirable but not essential
• Strong willingness to learn and take direction
• Must have strong attention to detail and hold yourself to a high quality of work
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Able to work as part of a team or independently when required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must hold a current QLD Manual Driver’s Licence, have reliable transport, or be close to obtaining a licence
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Pay rate will be discussed at interview and will depend on age, qualifications, apprenticeship stage and experience.
