About the role
Junyas Group is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Structural Landscaper to join our team in Springfield, QLD. This is a full-time position offering a sign-on bonus of $1500 to the right candidate. As Leading Hand, you will take a supervisory and hands-on role in the delivery of high-quality structural landscaping projects is the residential sector . You will be responsible for leading your crew of 3 ensuring quality standards, are maintained, and overseeing the completion of projects on time and within budget. This is a role that requires both leadership and technical expertise capabilities. You will have your own company truck and machines supplied, all products and jobs will be organised for you and will only be required to supervise your crew, maintain building standards, liaise with Building supervisors and other various jobs involving leading hand positions.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and lead your landscaping crew on site, ensuring all work meets company standards and expectations
Plan and coordinate structural landscaping projects, including retaining walls, fences garden plant outs, drive kangas and excuvators and much more
Inspect completed work by your team and ensure compliance with design and industry standards
Manage project timelines, report progress to site managers and complete company electronic job cards
Maintain equipment and tools, identifying maintenance needs and reporting defects
Liaise with supervisors and other tradespeople to ensure smooth project execution
Train and mentor junior team members on landscaping techniques and safety
Assist in estimating and quoting for variations of jobs
What we're looking for
Minimum 5+ years' experience in structural landscaping or related construction trades
Proven leadership experience supervising teams on site
Minimum of 2+ years leadership experience supervising teams is required
Strong knowledge of structural landscaping construction techniques, including retaining walls, fencing, knowing how to read all types of site plans and engineering designs
Construction Induction Card (White Card) must be obtained before commencing employment
Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and building codes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving ability and attention to detail with committed attendance to 5 days a week work
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites on south side of brisbane
Australian citizenship or permeant residency is required for this position
