We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager – Minor Works & Refurbishments to join our team. This role is ideally suited to a qualified carpenter with demonstrated experience managing refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, and minor construction projects from inception through to completion.

The Role

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple minor works and refurbishment projects ranging from maintenance upgrades through to projects valued up to $500,000.

You will oversee projects from initial client engagement and scoping through to procurement, delivery, handover and completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple refurbishment and minor works projects simultaneously.

  • Prepare scopes of works, quotations, project programmes and cost estimates.

  • Conduct site inspections, condition assessments and client meetings.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal trades.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.

  • Monitor project budgets, variations, forecasting and profitability.

  • Maintain project documentation, reports and compliance records.

  • Manage procurement activities and subcontractor engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and client requirements.

  • Attend project meetings and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for additional works and value-added services.

  • Support business development activities through strong client relationship management.

  • Assist with defect management and project close-out processes.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Trade qualification as a Carpenter (essential).

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience delivering minor works, refurbishments, fit-outs or maintenance projects.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple project stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodology and sequencing.

  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications and scopes of work.

  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and site safety requirements.

  • Strong commercial awareness and budget management skills.

  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

  • High level organisational and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.

  • Construction White Card.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Building.

  • Experience within facilities maintenance, retail, healthcare, aged care or government sectors.

  • First Aid Certificate.

  • EWP, Working at Heights or other relevant industry certifications.
