About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter & Trade Assistant to join our growing team at SQ Home Renovations in Adelaide, SA. This is a full-time position based on-site at various renovation projects across the Adelaide metropolitan area. As a Carpenter & Trade Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional carpentry services to our clients. You will work alongside our experienced team, contributing to all phases of renovation projects whilst developing your skills and gaining exposure to various aspects of residential carpentry and construction.

Key responsibilities

1. Assisting experienced carpenters with all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and installation tasks

2. Preparing and maintaining work sites, including tool management, site cleanliness, and safety compliance

3. Installing doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, and other timber fixtures and fittings

4. Supporting the carpentry team during all stages of renovation projects, from preparation through to completion

5. Communicating effectively with the team and customers to ensure project expectations are met

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working in carpentry or as a trade assistant in the residential construction or renovation industry

2. Sound knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly used in carpentry and cabinet making

3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements

5. Strong communication and teamwork abilities with a positive attitude towards collaboration

6. Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to attend multiple sites across Adelaide

7. Preferred: Formal carpentry qualifications, apprenticeship completion, or recognised trade training credentials
