Senior Boat Builder Shipwright (To be based in Malaysia)

This position will be based at our production plant in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.

We are based in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, where over 900 full-time staff work in 51,000 square meters of covered shop floor. This working environment has been carefully designed to enable cutting-edge technology to work in harmony with traditional craftsmanship.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Boat Builder / Shipwright to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team responsible for composite fit-out and the installation of moulded fibreglass components and structures within our production line. The candidate work closely with our local team to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout production.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Work hands-on with the construction team to deliver projects to the highest standards

• Oversee aspects of motor yacht builds, ensuring timelines, quality, and design goals are met

• Manage resource allocation and identify any additional needs as projects evolve

• Monitor project milestones, deadlines, risks, and constraints

• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments when needed to ensure project success

  Qualities we are looking for:

• Demonstrated project management skills within a boatbuilding or related environment

• Strong leadership and clear communication skills

• Collaborative team mindset

• Over 5 years of experience in the high-end motor or sailing yacht industry

• Expertise in composite construction, particularly vacuum infusion with E-glass and carbon fibre

• Broad experience in interior and exterior fitout, yacht systems, and boat handling is a plus

• Hands-on boating experience is advantageous

• Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is a plus

• Trade-certified boat builder or shipwright with composite construction experience

 Working Conditions:

• Full-time position, working five (5) days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Must be willing to relocate to Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.
