Components Supervisor – Heavy Mechanical Workshop
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Components Supervisor to lead our Components Department within a busy mechanical workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work while supporting and developing a team.
About the Role
As the Components Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the components department with the Components Manager, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will coordinate workflow, support your team, and liaise closely with other departments to meet operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of Heavy-Duty Fitters and Trades Assistants
Coordinate and prioritise component rebuilds and repairs
Ensure all work is completed to OEM specifications and quality standards
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site procedures
Monitor workflow, job progress, and deadlines
Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting
Liaise with planning, stores, and workshop management
Ensure accurate job tracking, reporting, and documentation
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workshop performance
Welshpool workshop – 10hr days, Monday to Friday
About You
Trade qualified Heavy Duty Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
Proven experience with underground mining equipment (e.g. Sandvik, Cat, Epiroc)
Strong background in component rebuilds (engines, driveline, hydraulics)
Previous supervisory or leading hand experience
Solid understanding of safety systems and workshop procedures
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Computer literate
Must have full working rights in Australia
