Components Supervisor – Heavy Mechanical Workshop

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Components Supervisor to lead our Components Department within a busy mechanical workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work while supporting and developing a team.

About the Role

As the Components Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the components department with the Components Manager, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will coordinate workflow, support your team, and liaise closely with other departments to meet operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Heavy-Duty Fitters and Trades Assistants

  • Coordinate and prioritise component rebuilds and repairs

  • Ensure all work is completed to OEM specifications and quality standards

  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site procedures

  • Monitor workflow, job progress, and deadlines

  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting

  • Liaise with planning, stores, and workshop management

  • Ensure accurate job tracking, reporting, and documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workshop performance

  • Welshpool workshop – 10hr days, Monday to Friday

About You

  • Trade qualified Heavy Duty Fitter / Diesel Mechanic

  • Proven experience with underground mining equipment (e.g. Sandvik, Cat, Epiroc)

  • Strong background in component rebuilds (engines, driveline, hydraulics)

  • Previous supervisory or leading hand experience

  • Solid understanding of safety systems and workshop procedures

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Computer literate

  • Must have full working rights in Australia
