About the role
BWF Group is seeking an experienced Industrial/Earthmoving Painter & Sandblaster to join our team on a full-time basis in Mandurah, WA 6210. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our operations, where you'll apply your technical expertise to deliver high-quality surface preparation and protective coating solutions for Industrial/Earthmoving clients. Your work will be critical to ensuring that our projects meet stringent industry standards and client expectations, contributing directly to the reputation and success of BWF Group. Key responsibilities
Operate sandblasting equipment to prepare industrial surfaces, including steel structures, pipework and machinery, to the required specifications
Perform surface cleaning and preparation using appropriate blasting media and techniques to achieve optimal adhesion for coating systems
Apply industrial protective coatings, paints and finishes using spray equipment, brushes and rollers, ensuring consistent coverage and quality
Inspect surfaces and finished work to verify compliance with project specifications, quality standards and safety requirements
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and any issues encountered on site
Adhere to all health, safety and environmental protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Perform equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure tools and machinery remain in safe working condition
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and clients to coordinate work schedules and address any concerns
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, safety and quality in painting and blasting operations
What we're looking for
Proven experience as an Industrial/Earthmoving Painter and/or Sandblaster, with a solid track record in similar roles within the industrial or manufacturing sectors. It would be advantageous if you would be able to step up and take ownership of the paint team
Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including sandblasting, grit blasting and other abrasive methods
Proficiency in applying industrial coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers and other protective systems
Ability to interpret coating specifications, technical drawings and work instructions accurately
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices, with experience working in compliance with strict safety protocols
Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including working at heights, in confined spaces and with heavy equipment
Strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites as required
