We are seeking a motivated Boilermaking Leading Hand to join our manufacturing workshop on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a trade-qualified boilermaker who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys leading by example.

Working closely with the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily workshop activities, supervising trades personnel, and ensuring all fabrication work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of boilermakers, welders, and trades assistants.

• Coordinate daily workflow to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.

• Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.

• Perform and oversee fabrication, welding and assembly.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and company procedures.

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the workshop.

• Conduct toolbox talks and assist with training and mentoring team members.

• Monitor productivity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Liaise with management regarding job progress, material requirements, and resource allocation.

• Assist in maintaining workshop housekeeping and equipment standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Fabricator/Welder.

• Proven experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Boilermaker role or Boilermaker looking to take the next step in their career.

• Minimum 4-5 years of Boilermaking experience.

• Strong fabrication and welding knowledge within a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Ability to motivate and develop team members while maintaining productivity targets.

Desirable

• Forklift Licence.

• Overhead crane experience.

• First Aid Certificate.

• Experience with MIG/TIG welding Aluminium.
