About the role

Niesar Painting is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Painter to join our team on a full-time basis in Cairns, QLD. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your painting expertise in a dynamic commercial environment, working on diverse projects that showcase your craftsmanship and attention to detail. As a Commercial Painter, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality paint finishes that enhance the aesthetic and structural integrity of commercial properties across the region.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming walls, ceilings and other surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion

2. Apply paint, varnish and protective coatings using various techniques including brush, roller and spray application

3. Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and company specifications

4. Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition

5. Follow health and safety protocols and adhere to workplace safety regulations

6. Liaise with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and timelines

7. Work efficiently to complete projects on schedule and within budget parameters

8. Assist with site setup and clean-up activities

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Commercial Painter with a solid track record of delivering quality work on commercial projects

2. Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, paint types and application methods appropriate for commercial environments

3. Proficiency with painting tools and equipment, including spray application systems

4. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing finishes that meet or exceed client expectations

5. Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to access job sites

6. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

7. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

8. Own Tools

9. Relevant qualifications or trade certification in painting and decorating is highly desirable
