About the role:

We’re currently seeking a Leading Hand Boilermaker to join our Maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you will lead, coordinate and perform the repair, fabrication, assembly and maintenance of plant and equipment.

What you'll be doing?

  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to boilermakers and apprentices to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Interpret, review, and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work.
  • Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow priorities in line with production and maintenance requirements.
  • Use a variety of tools and techniques, including welding, brazing, cutting, and sheet metal work.
  • Ensure all fabrication and welding activities are completed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and company requirements.
  • Pre-start checks and reporting all faults and deficiencies of equipment associated with the role.
  • Organise materials, raise purchase orders where required, and coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of job execution from planning through to completion, including final inspection and sign-off where required.

What we're looking for?

  • Minimum 4–5 years’ post-trade experience as a Boilermaker/Fabricator/Welder.
  • Mechanical Engineering Certificate III (Boilermaker/Welder) or higher (essential).
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to lead by example, support and mentor apprentices, and contribute to team performance and accountability.
  • Forklift License (essential).
  • EWP License (highly regarded or willingness to be trained).
  • Basic Welding Inspector (IWI-B) qualification (highly regarded or willingness to be trained).
  • Moderate computer literacy, including the use of CMMS and basic reporting systems. (Experience using MEX is highly regarded).
