About the role
Ashcroft Construction Pty Ltd is seeking Apprentice Carpenters 1st year - 4th year to join our dynamic team in Broadford, Victoria. This is a full-time apprenticeship position that offers an excellent opportunity to learn carpentry and cabinet-making skills from experienced professionals in a supportive and practical working environment. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will work alongside skilled tradespeople, developing your expertise in various carpentry techniques whilst contributing to the successful completion of construction and carpentry projects. This role is essential in building our next generation of skilled tradespeople and represents a significant investment in your professional development and career growth within the construction industry.
Key responsibilities
Assist experienced carpenters in the preparation, measurement and cutting of timber and other materials for construction projects
Learn and apply safe work practices on site, including proper handling of tools, equipment and materials
Perform basic carpentry tasks including framing, fitting, installing and finishing of timber structures and fixtures
Support the construction and Frame Lock up and Fixing Including installation of door frames, windows.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the safe storage and management of tools and materials
Attend on-the-job training and complete required off-the-job training through an approved training provider
Follow site instructions and comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies
Develop practical problem-solving skills and learn to work collaboratively as part of a construction team
What we're looking for
School leaver or equivalent qualification with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in carpentry and cabinet-making
Candidates must be at least 15 years of age to be eligible for this apprentice carpenter position
A strong willingness to learn and develop practical skills under the guidance of experienced tradespeople
Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and working at heights where required
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Strong safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining workplace health and safety standards
Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work consistently as part of a team
Basic numeracy and literacy skills, including the ability to read plans and take measurements
A valid driver's licence is desirable to facilitate travel to various job sites
Any previous experience in construction, woodwork or related trades is advantageous but not essential
Australian citizenship is required for this apprenticeship position
