About the role

Kanga Couriers is seeking a HR Truck Driver on a casual basis to join our dynamic warehousing, storage and distribution operations in Pinkenba, QLD 4008. This role is fundamental to ensuring the safe, efficient and timely movement of goods throughout our logistics network. As an HR Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy rigid vehicles and managing freight movements, playing a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for reliable and professional courier services. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst contributing to the core operations of our business.

Key responsibilities

1. Operating heavy rigid (HR) vehicles safely and in accordance with all applicable road transport regulations and company policies

2. Loading, securing and unloading freight in a professional and efficient manner

3. Conducting pre-operation and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and roadworthiness

4. Maintaining accurate delivery records, manifests and documentation for all freight movements

5. Adhering to planned routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely service delivery

6. Communicating effectively with dispatch, warehouse and customer teams regarding delivery status and any issues

7. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised vehicle at all times

8. Complying with work, health and safety requirements and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately

What we're looking for

1. Current valid HR Driver Licence with a clean driving record

2. National Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence (NHVDL) or equivalent qualification

3. Proven experience operating heavy rigid vehicles in a commercial logistics environment

4. Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations, fatigue management and vehicle compliance requirements

5. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently

6. Professional communication and customer service skills

7. Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to safety at all times

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

9. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks as required

10. Current First Aid Certificate is desirable
