We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join our Fremantle operations and lead a team of talented fabricators and welders in delivering top-quality results.

Primary Objective

To supervise and coordinate all fabrication activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of marine repair and maintenance projects in accordance with Kailis Marine Engineering standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead fabrication personnel to deliver quality workmanship safely, on time, and within budget.
Plan, allocate, and monitor daily work tasks for welders, fabricators, and apprentices.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards across workshop and site operations.
Interpret and review technical drawings, specifications, and work scopes.
Coordinate with engineering, project, and quality teams to resolve technical and production issues.
Manage materials, consumables, and equipment requirements for ongoing and upcoming jobs.
Conduct inspections to verify fabricated components meet specifications and tolerances.
Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members.
Maintain accurate records of progress, time, and material usage.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a positive, safety-first culture.

Skills and Experience

Trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Welding, or Boilermaking (Certificate III or higher).
Proven supervisory or leading hand experience in marine, heavy fabrication, or ship repair environments.
Marine industry experience is essential, with specific experience in marine fabrication and ship repair environments required.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding procedures, and quality assurance standards.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong focus on workplace health, safety, and quality outcomes.
Able to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights.
