Pipe Fitters – Fixed Term Project Role | FIFO Karratha | Major WA Construction Project
Tecside is seeking experienced, trade-qualified Pipe Fitters for a major construction project in Karratha, WA.
This is a full-time fixed-term contract, not casual work, on one of the most important industrial construction projects currently underway in Australia. Project Ceres will support long-term domestic urea production, which is critical to Australia’s agricultural supply chain, industrial capability and long-term economic growth.
This is a genuine long-term project opportunity for Pipe Fitters who want structured site conditions, strong project continuity and the security of fixed-term employment on a landmark build.

About the role
We are seeking Pipe Fitters with strong hands-on construction experience in major industrial environments.
The role will involve: - fabrication and installation of various sizes of pipework
- working with a range of exotic materials and associated piping components
- cutting, beveling and fitting pipe in accordance with isometric drawings
- assembly of pipe spools including valves and associated instruments
- working with other disciplines, including riggers, to position and erect pipework of varying sizes
- fit-up and preparation of pipework for welding and installation
What we are specifically looking for
To be competitive for this role, candidates should have:
- 5+ years’ hands-on construction experience as a Pipe Fitter
- genuine site-based industrial pipe fabrication and installation experience
- experience across a range of pipe sizes
- strong experience with flanges, valves, supports and fittings
- experience working from isometric drawings
- fit-up, beveling, alignment and spool assembly capability
- experience with carbon steel piping
- ideally exposure to Inconel cladding, compressor hook-up piping, risers and flowline
Preferred background
Candidates will be highly regarded if they have experience in:
- LNG projects
- oil and gas projects
- refinery or process plant construction
- major mining construction projects
- brownfields or greenfields construction scopes where pipefitting was a core part of the role
Essential requirements:
Suitable candidates will hold:
- relevant Fabrication Trade Certificate or equivalent trade qualification
- White Card / Construction Card
- Working at Heights
- EWP / High Risk Work Licence
- Confined Space
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Full working rights in Australia
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
Please do not apply if: - your experience is mainly Mechanical Fitting rather than Pipe Fitting
- your experience is mainly workshop fabrication with no strong site installation history
- your piping experience is limited to maintenance-only flange work
- your background is primarily plumbing rather than industrial pipefitting
