Welcome to St John of God Health Care
St John of God Health Care is one of the largest private providers of health care services in Australia, employing more than 16,000 employees (caregivers). We operate 26 hospitals and services comprising more than 3,300 hospital beds, including home nursing, disability services and social outreach programs.
As a Catholic, not-for-profit group, we invest all profits to the communities we serve by updating and expanding our facilities and technology; expanding existing services and developing and acquiring new services; and providing Social Outreach services to people experiencing disadvantage to improve health and wellbeing.
St John of God Murdoch Hospital is one of the leading private health campuses in Western Australia, and major health care hub in the southern region. Offering 507-beds, services include an emergency department, operating theatres, endoscopy suites, birth suite and maternity ward, medical library and education center.
Your role
Join our team at SJG Murdoch Hospital and take pride in maintaining beautiful, safe and welcoming outdoor spaces. This hands-on role offers variety and responsibility, from caring for gardens and grounds to maintaining reticulation systems and coordinating specialist horticultural activities. You'll play a key role in keeping the hospital environment at its best through weed and pest management, lawn fertilisation, mulching, replanting and general grounds maintenance. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in high-quality presentation, and want to make a visible difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
The Position
You will bring proven experience in all aspects of garden and grounds maintenance, including the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of reticulation systems within a large commercial environment. You will also have experience undertaking a range of general grounds maintenance tasks, including brick paving, and demonstrate proficiency in the safe and effective use of garden hand tools and powered equipment.
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential. Strong communication skills are required to engage with caregivers, understand their requests and concerns, and respond appropriately to issues relating to the Hospital's services and facilities. Demonstrated experience working in outdoor environments is required, along with a strong understanding of associated hazards and a proven commitment to safe work practices.
To succeed you will be a self-driven, dynamic and result oriented person who can demonstrate continuous self-improvement and good time management. An 'A' Class Driver's Licence with availability to work after hours if required to attend any unplanned maintenance will be essential for the role.
Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
We can offer you
