Fleet Manager

Sarens is the global reference in heavy lifting and engineered transport. Our cranes move the kind of loads most people don't think are moveable across mining, energy, infrastructure and renewables. We're growing across the Oceania region, and we're looking for a Fleet Manager to keep that equipment safe, available and earning.

The role

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job. You'll own the availability, maintenance, compliance and lifecycle of our crane fleet across Australia and the wider Oceania region. The fleet is the business, so when it runs well, we win work and deliver it. That's on you.

What you'll do

• Plan and manage maintenance and servicing so cranes are ready when projects need them

• Lead the workshop and field maintenance teams, set the standards, and hold people to them

• Keep every asset compliant with WHS, registration, inspection and OEM requirements

• Manage fleet budgets, costs and capital planning, and make the case when we need to invest

• Track utilisation and condition, and use that data to make better calls on repair, replace or hire

• Manage relationships with suppliers, OEMs and external service providers

• Support project and operations teams with mobilisation, transport and equipment planning

• Drive a strong safety culture across everything the fleet touches
  

What you'll bring

• Solid experience managing a crane fleet, ideally in lifting, mining, construction or heavy industry

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the credibility to lead a technical team on the floor, not just in the meeting room, and a track record of building teams that hold together

• A working knowledge of crane maintenance planning, asset management and the relevant compliance regime

• Commercial sense: you understand that every hour of downtime has a number attached to it

• Strong organisation, clear communication, and the judgement to prioritise under pressure

• Relevant trade, engineering or technical background (higher education qualifications are welcome, but real capability matters more)
