About the role

Diamond Food Services P/L is seeking an experienced Butcher or Boner to join our team on a full-time basis at our Strathfield South location in NSW. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our meat processing operations, where you will be responsible for preparing and processing high-quality lamb products to meet customer demands both domestically and Tier 1 markets abroad. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining our reputation for quality and excellence in the meat trade.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and processing meat using industry-standard techniques and equipment

1. Boning, trimming and butchering various cuts of meat to specifications

2. Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with relevant regulations

3. Packaging and labelling meat products accurately and professionally

4. Operating and maintaining butchery equipment safely and efficiently

5. Inspecting meat quality and identifying any issues or defects

6. Following recipes and weight requirements to ensure consistency in product quality

7. Maintaining a clean and organised work station and processing area

8. Assisting with stock management and ordering as required

9. Working collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years experience as a Boner or Slicer, with a strong understanding of meat cutting and preparation techniques.

2. Current relevant qualifications or certifications in butchery or meat processing.

3. Passion for delivering high quality products and exceptional customer service

4. Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and butchery techniques

5. Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene and health regulations

6. Ability to use butchery equipment and tools proficiently and safely

7. Physical stamina and the ability to work in a cool environment

8. Strong time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

9. Team player mentality with reliable and professional work ethic

10. Willingness to continue developing skills and knowledge within the trade
