Position Overview

The Parts Interpreter is responsible for delivering accurate parts interpretation, sales support, and exceptional customer service across a wide range of commercial vehicle applications. This role plays a critical part in supporting our service department and external customers, ensuring efficient parts supply, strong customer relationships, and smooth daily operations within the Parts Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely parts interpretation and sales support to trade, retail, and fleet customers via counter, phone, and email.

• Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate parts and accessories across multiple heavy vehicle brands.

• Process sales orders, quotations, credits, and backorders accurately using the dealer management system.

• Maintain professional presentation of the showroom and parts counter area.

• Assist with inventory control, receipting, bin location accuracy, and participation in stocktakes.

• Ensure all parts transactions are completed efficiently and in line with dealership procedures.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Parts Department.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter (automotive, heavy vehicle, agricultural or similar industry preferred).

• Strong product knowledge and the ability to interpret parts catalogues and electronic systems.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• High level of organisational ability and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Current driver’s licence is essential.

• This role includes a six-month probationary period.

• Training will be provided by the dealership and our franchise partners.

• Saturday morning work is required on a rotating roster.

• The successful candidate may be required to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
