We're chasing an experienced Steel Fabricator who knows their way around transport fabrication, takes pride in their craftsmanship, delivers quality work, and is available to start immediately. We want someone who gets on with the job as we have heaps of new jobs to do.
Uralla Metals is a growing regional manufacturing business specialising in the design and manufacture of premium livestock transport equipment, truck bodies, stock crates, truck modifications, dog/pig trailers, and specialised steel products, serving customers across NSW and Southern Queensland.

What You'll Be Doing
Working as part of our fabrication team, you'll be involved in:
Fabricating truck bodies, dog & pig trailers
Building stock crates and livestock transport equipment
Truck extensions and custom modifications
Custom transport fabrication projects and products
Reading and interpreting workshop drawings
MIG welding and steel fabrication
Assembly and fit-up work
Maintaining quality workmanship from start to finish
This is real fabrication work — rarely are two projects the same, and therefore it's not repetitive production-line work.
What We Need
Non-Negotiable
Trade-qualified fabricator who is experienced in fabricating and assembling steel components from drawings and specifications
Solid MIG welding skills of mild steel components
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
Reliable work ethic and positive attitude
Reliable and punctual
Strong attention to detail ensuring products meet quality standards
Strong focus on working safely and maintaining a clean workshop environment
Work effectively and efficiently to meet production targets and budgets
Pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing ideas for continuous improvement and efficiency
Commitment to workplace safety
Current driver's licence
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
Highly Regarded
Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication
Experience in heavy vehicle, agricultural, manufacturing or transport industries
Forklift licence
Experience operating workshop machinery and equipment
