Qualified Metal Fabricator

Are you an experienced Metal Fabricator looking for a role where no two days are the same?

Obieco Industries is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator / Vehicle Body Builder to join our manufacturing team in Tamworth. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established Australian manufacturer, building high-quality truck bodies, fleet canopies and custom vehicle solutions that are used across a range of industries.

Working alongside our Engineering, Production and Workshop teams, you will play a key role in fabricating and assembling custom-built vehicle bodies and specialised equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety.

What You'll Be Doing

• Fabricating and assembling truck bodies, trays, tippers, crane trucks, grain bins, fleet canopies and specialised vehicle bodies
• MIG welding and metal fabrication using mild steel and aluminium
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
• Grinding, fitting and carrying out quality checks on completed work
• Following production schedules and meeting delivery deadlines
• Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
• Working collaboratively with production, engineering and supervisory staff

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualifications and/or a minimum of 4 years' experience in metal fabrication or vehicle body building
• Strong MIG welding experience (TIG welding advantageous)
• Experience working with mild steel (aluminium fabrication highly regarded)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work effectively within production timeframes
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Forklift licence desirable but not essential
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
