Smart water technology can tell you where a leak might be. It takes a skilled technician to confirm it, pinpoint it, and get it fixed.
That person, the one in the field, on the asset, making the call, is the difference between a dataset and a result.
At Aqua Analytics we call that the Human Layer, and it's at the heart of everything we do.
We're the water network experts. We help utilities and councils across Australia and New Zealand reduce non-revenue water (NRW), extend the life of ageing pipeline assets, and run smarter networks, combining a skilled field team, advanced acoustic and IoT technology, and globally recognised water-loss expertise.
We're growing, and we're looking for water network professionals who want to do meaningful work, partner directly with our clients, and take real ownership of the results they deliver in the field.
As a Water Network Technician, you'll be at the sharp end of leak detection and water loss reduction. Day to day, you will:
Carry out acoustic leak detection (ALD) surveys, focused on results and efficiency
Install and maintain intelligent IoT loggers and sensors on water and wastewater pipelines
Deliver NRW and water loss reduction projects across Australia and New Zealand
Support project planning, documentation, budgeting, and delivery coordination
Report network defects to clients using our AquaLeaks works management tool direct from a field tablet
Own HSEQ compliance on site, including daily use of our field compliance software
Liaise with clients on site, keeping contract performance and satisfaction front of mind
Essential
Sound knowledge of water networks and how they operate day to day
Hands-on experience using a wide range of acoustic technology to locate leaks
A working understanding of leak detection and water loss management strategies
A professional approach in how you present, communicate, and represent Aqua to our clients
The drive to solve problems collaboratively with teammates and customers
Willingness and flexibility to travel from time to time (accommodation and per diem provided)
The legal right to work in Australia
Desirable
Experience in a small, fast-moving business where what you do directly shapes the outcome
Familiarity with intelligent water IoT devices or the appetite to learn fast
A track record of meeting and beating contract performance expectations
Understanding of large-scale acoustic leak detection projects are delivered
A small, flexible team of genuinely capable people, aligned on what we're here to do
Access to the latest leak detection and smart water technology, for your work, and for solving our clients' hardest network problems
A mobile phone allowance
Specialised external training to grow your technical career
Real room to grow, take on more responsibility and be rewarded for it
Work that matters: every leak you find is water and energy saved, and infrastructure made to last
A company that backs its values, including our corporate partnership with WaterAid Australia
If you want more meaningful work, the flexibility of a small team, and a role where your skill in the field is the thing that counts, we'd like to hear from you. Apply today.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
We offer an Employer Visa Sponsorship Scheme to suitable candidates after a qualification period.
