Pay: Negotiable based on experience, attitude, licences, and skills.

About the Role

This is a practical, physically active role suited to someone who enjoys staying busy, working both indoors and outdoors, and taking ownership of their responsibilities.

Your duties will include:

  • Delivering materials and products to sites across Canberra

  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently

  • Receiving, checking, and preparing orders for dispatch

  • Maintaining an organised yard and factory environment

  • Basic vehicle maintenance and presentation checks

  • Assisting the production team and tradespeople when required

  • Performing measurements, stock calculations, quantity checks, and other tasks requiring accuracy and attention to detail

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workplace

No two days are exactly the same, and you'll play an important role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Employment Pathway

Successful applicants will undertake an initial two-week trial employment period.

Following a successful trial, employment will continue on a casual basis for the first three months. Subject to satisfactory performance, attendance, and suitability for the role, the position will then transition to full-time employment.

A six-month probationary period applies from the commencement of employment following the trial period, with the first three months completed as a casual employee and the remaining probation period completed as a full-time employee.

  • Holds a current Australian driver's licence with a clean driving record

  • Is physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

  • Holds a current forklift licence, or is willing and able to obtain one within three months of commencing employment

  • Has strong foundational maths skills and is comfortable working with measurements, dimensions, quantities, and calculations

  • Can accurately read, interpret, and work with measurements and production information

  • Wants a long-term position with opportunities to grow

Forklift Licence Requirement

A current forklift licence is required to fulfil this role. Applicants who do not currently hold a forklift licence must be willing and able to obtain one within three months of commencing employment.

Arkus Industries will reimburse 50% of approved forklift licence training and assessment costs upon successful completion of 12 months of continuous employment.

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular lifting, loading and unloading materials, moving stock, and spending much of the day on your feet. Applicants should be comfortable performing physical work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
